“I don't just say ‘I've got
[a feeling]
toothache
’, but
[a feeling]
toothache
makes me say this
.” (I deliberately didn't write ‘the feeling of toothache’, or ‘a certain feeling.)
This sentence distinguishes between, say, saying it as an example of a sentence, or on the stage etc., & saying it as an assertion. But it is no explanation of the expression
“I have toothache”, of the use of the word “toothache”.
