We very often find it impossible to think without speaking to ourselves half aloud; – & nobody asked to describe what happened in this case would ever say that something, the thinking, accompanied the speaking were they not tempted || seduced to do so by the existence of the two verbs speaking & thinking & their use in many of our common phrases.
     If anything can be said to accompany || go with the speech it would be something like the modulation of vocal means of expression. But does the Ausdruck accompany the words in the sense in which a melody accompanies them?
