The difficulty is that we feel that we have said something about the nature of pain when we say that one person can't have another person's pain. Perhaps we shouldn't be inclined to say that we had anything physiological or even p[h|s]ychological but something metapsychological metaphysical. Something about the essence, nature, of pain as opposed to its causal connections to other phenomena.
